It is not a stretch to say you need to move, it is critical!

February 25, 2020

Movement is life.  Do I really need to say more?

Really, think about it.  Every thing in nature moves. The only time movement stops is with death.  Hard, cold fact right?

From that point I will jump right to the idea that we need to move to keep healthy.

  • Our bodies are energy
  • Our bodies have integrated systems
  • Our bodies have fluids
  • Our bodies have nutrients
  • Our bodies are meant to move

We breath, our blood flows carrying all we need to survive through our systems.  Sounds so simple but yet we so complex.

What is not complex to understand is that when the flow slows (or stops), bad things happen.

Our bodies become deprived, stop working efficiently,  the systems become stressed and  illness takes hold.

Stretching is a great way to keep things flowing.

This includes all our bodily systems

  • cardiovascular
  • respiratory
  • lymphatic
  • reproductive
  • digestive
  • skeletal
  • muscular
  • brain function
  • and more

Stretching is a simple way to get things and keep things moving.

Incorporating mindful movement such as Tai Chi, Qigong or Yoga are wonderful modalities that up the game from simple stretching to high value internal health movement.

So, I have to ask, when is the last time to stretched?  Hoping beyond hope that if you have not make it a part of your routine before,  you will think about it and add it after reading this.

To you health!
