You can’t stop the crazy, but you can turn down the stress.

I am going to make a huge assumption here:

Most of you are dealing with some sort of stress that has been magnified over the last 5 months.

From my view, the world has gone crazy.

This crazy is not caused by the covid-19.  That is simply another straw added to the pile.

The crazy is the growth of hatred, racism, lust for power, and increase in the overall “all about me” way of thinking on a global level.

This is not to say that the world population is crazy.  There is much more good and many more kind and loving to be found that bad, but the growth of the bad is disturbing.

We cannot really stop it on an individual basis. We cannot stop the crazy from happening or turn it completely off from out lives.

So how do we deal with it?

We learn how to turn it down, quiet the noise,  and calm our reactions to the crazy.

First: Stop listening.

Second: Repeat the stop listening …

Third: If you are going to listen, change the channel. Learn to listen to your heart, your mind and your soul.  Listen internal with your mind and you turn down the volume of your eyes and ears.

Qigong, Yoga, meditation or any form of internal health and healing modality helps with this.

Keep in mind, and this is huge. No matter what happens to the external part of you does not reach the internal “you”.

Seeking that part, looking inside while quieting the noise and the crazy of the outside world is a way to cope.

Your friends may call it hiding, being unrealistic, head in the sand kind of behavior.  Let them.  It’s just part of the noise I am talking about.

Try this… for two minutes, or more if you can.

  • Turn away from the computer.  If you can, go outside.
  • Either way, sitting or standing:
  • relax your arms at your side and slightly turn your palms out and up
  • look slightly upwards toward the sky
  • take a deep slow breathe in
  • exhale slowly and relax as you do, releasing a little tension
  • listen to the sound of your breath, turning off outside thoughts
  • feel the breath, the expansion and contraction of your lungs, turning off outside thoughts
  • feel the body expand and contract and it relaxes with each breath
  • close your eyes smile as you do this.
  • Do this a few times a day!
