” I can’t do that!” …. then do this
It is so much fun to work with people of varying degrees of skills, different personality types and all sorts of physical conditions.
Especially because I know that Qigong can help all of them.
I say this because I know what it has done for me. At 66, I am better at Qigong movement than I was at 40.
I am going to make this post short and sweet. The bottom line, if you are alive and breathing, you can do Qigong. You may not be able to get your arms overhead to “Hold the Heavens” or “Carry the Moon”, but that’s ok.
My favorite thing to do is show a movement and than say, show me what you can do. And then help the student make modification that fit their stage and ability.
Qigong is not about perfection of form, it is about desire to feel better, to move better and to gain some feeling of control, even if only a little tiny bit.
The tiny bit is where you start. We all start somewhere.
So as the title say, if you can’t do “that” as the instructor does it, find your “this”, a modification that you are comfortable with.
If you want more info on this idea, let me know and I will be glad to share some ideas with you.
