Walking skills for fall prevention and moving in balance.

March 9, 2022

For those of us who are able to walk, we tend to take the process for granted. Mindless movement from place to place.

However, walking is a process with many parts, that when they are functioning right, all is good. When there is an issue, things can go quickly wrong.

For aging people, the walking skills fade faster than we would like. Loss of balance, declining strength and muscle tone, decline in attention and concentration and other senses make walking a challenge for many.

Tai Chi and Qigong are known to assist with improvement in balance and fall prevention. So is physical therapy and other kinds of training.

Many training have you walk, but do not teach you the process. I found that to missing and have created a method of teaching how to take steps, how to feel the movement and how to move in balance.

After 17 years of teaching skill building to seniors, I have added to the mix of available trainings with my online video course, based on the principles of Tai Chi and Qigong.

My course is a series of 13 videos, each skill adding to the previous as a progressive learning model.

The videos are short and easy to follow. It is a self paced course, as the videos are available ongoing, once registered, . No time limit for viewing.
